Tub-to-shower conversions · Eastern & Central Washington · North Idaho

Step in. Don't climb over.

We take out a hard-to-use bathtub and put in a walk-in shower with a low curb, a seat, and grab bars, so showering is safer and easier. Brickman Home Services is a licensed General Contractor based in Spokane.

What a conversion includes

A typical tub-to-shower conversion includes:

  • The old tub taken out and hauled away
  • A low-threshold shower pan with a curb about 4 inches high
  • Waterproof wall panels installed over a prepared wall. We don't use screw-to-stud surrounds.
  • A shower seat or bench
  • Three grab bars, placed where you'll actually reach for them
  • A handheld shower with a new valve and trim
  • Two corner niches for shampoo and soap
  • A curtain and rod. A glass door can be added.

Pick your walls

Every conversion gets the same safe layout. The walls are where you choose the look. We can bring samples to your home so you can see and feel each one.

How it works

  1. Call or text.

Tell us who the shower is for and what's hard about the bathroom now.

  2. We measure and photograph.

We look at the bathroom, talk through the layout, and show you the wall options.

  3. You get a written estimate.

It lists what's included, so you know exactly what you're getting before any work starts.

  4. We build it.

A conversion usually takes a few days. We keep the work area clean and walk you through the finished shower.

Help paying for it

If you're a Veteran with a HISA prescription, the VA HISA grant can help pay for a walk-in shower. HISA doesn't pay for walk-in tubs. See how HISA works.

If you live in Washington and qualify, WA Cares can help pay for home changes, and we do WA Cares work too.
